                                     SUMMER 2009

Dear Maclay Parents,

We at Stubbs' Music Center are delighted to have the opportunity to
begin our 25th year of service to Maclay students and parents.  Music is
the only universal language that is available to us:  therefore, when it
comes to choosing your student's activities it is our hope that music
instruction will be the activity that helps him to learn this universal language.

In addition to the Fine Arts program students may take music
instruction during the school day.  Preschool students (ages 3 & 4)
may join a Kindermusik class.  All other students may take private
instruction in piano, voice, or guitar.

There are several imortant facts of which you need to be aware as you
consider this opportunity. (1) Participation is voluntary.  (2)
students sign up by semester.  (3)  Only upper school students
receive their Fine Arts credit for graduation and a grade each nine
weeks. (4)   Students may be asked to participate in various programs at
Maclay.  (5)  This tuition is payable directly to Stubbs' Music Center by
check, Visa or Master Charge.  (6)  Students are transported to 1260
Timberlane Road in our school van.  (7)  Parents must sigh a permission
to transport form.

All preschool, lower school, and middle school stude4nts attend class one
day per week.  Most upper school students attend classes two days per
week and study hall the remaining three days.  If the student's study
hall is the period before lunch, after lunch, or at the end of the day, then
the student may come only one day per week.

We at Stubbs' Music Center appreciate the opportunity to be of service
to the Maclay parents and students.  Music education is a vital part of
every young person's life, and the discipline that it teaches is so
important in the development of students.  Music participation enhances
concentration, self-confidence, coordination, self-expression, memory
skills, poise, teamwork, goal setting, and self-esteem.  Our offer to
you is quality music education without transportation problems or having
to schedule around other after school activities.

Making music instruction a part of your activities is making a great
educational decision!

Sincerly,
Martha H. Stubbs                            Joann Andersen
