1999

Julia Munroe Woodward, a vibrant and enthusiastic woman of vision, is a woman that dedicates her life to God, family, and friends.. A woman who gives tirelessly to her community. A woman always investing in the artist and academic education of young people.

Julia Munroe Woodward was reared by her parents, Mark Welch@Pat@ Munroe, Sr. and Mary Gray Munroe in Quincy, Florida. During her child- hood her love for music was instilled, and she developed her talents through the study of piano. She is a graduate of Wesleyan College, the oldest woman=s college in the world.

Julia married Robert Davidson Woodward, Jr, and together they reared six children in Quincy. Being a woman of vision for excellence in her community she helped to establish the local high school band, ACamp for All Seasons@ for Girl Scouts, and endowed a scholarship at Wesleyan for a Gadsden county girl. She works tirelessly in the PTA, the Presbyterian church, her garden club, Girl Scouts, Quincy Music Theater, Gadsden Arts, Inc., the hospital, and the local nursing home, and for Wesleyan College.

Knowing what music has meant in her life and the enjoyment of playing the piano everyday and still sharing her talents at the nursing home each week, Mrs. Woodward established the Julia Munroe Woodward Endowment, where a need-based student from Gadsden County will have the opportunity to receive a scholarship each year.
