Euginia Leigh Stubbs' Battle Eugenia Leigh Stubbs' Battle

Eugenia was born and reared in Birmingham, Alabama, with two younger brothers, by their parents Charles Eugene and Mary Blanche (White) Stubbs. During her youth, Eugenia studied piano for ten years, including several years at the Birmingham Southern Conservatory of Music. Although Eugenia chose to study and pursue other interest, she has had many opportunities to share her musical talents with others.

She graduated from West End High School in Birmingham and then attended the University of Alabama, where she majored in Elementary Education. While attending the university, Eugenia participated in several student organizations including the National Educational Association, the Panhellenic Council, and as President of Alpha Chi Omega, a Greek Society.

Since college, Eugenia has dedicated her life to raising her three children, working in the family business, and volunteering with many civic and church related organizations. Within these areas she has shared her love for music and use of her organizational skills. Currently retired, she is focusing her efforts on taking interior design and decorating courses, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling.

Eugenia has served on the Board of Directors of the Foundation since its inception. On July 29, 1996, her family honored her by establishing this endowment. Her oldest son, Pat, in reading a prepared letter to the Board, said "Mom has devoted most of her life to making our lives richer and has given so much of herself to all of us. In addition, she has contributed many years, great talent, and much hard work to our family business . We honor her because she loves music and because we love her."
