We at Stubbs' Music Center (SMC) are in our 40th year of providing the best music education to the Tallahassee community and surrounding areas. Music is the only universal language that is available to us: therefore when it comes to choosing your stundents activities it is our hope that music education will be one of the activities that is chosen. Through music classes and private instruction this universal language will be taught by one of twenty professional music educators within the finest facilities available.
Music Education is a vital part of every person's life. We strive to prepare our students to reach his/her greatest potential and to become actively involved in the music that surrounds our lives. More than 2.300 years ago, Plato said:
"Music is a more potent instrument then any other form of eduction, and children should be taught music before anything else."

Stubbs' Music Center provides Kindermusik classes for ages birth thru 7 years of age. Stubbs' Music Center is recognized by KINDERMUSIK INTERNATIONAL as a member of it's,"Maestro Program" We have been one of the top 125 Kindermusik Programs in the world since 2001.
PROGRAM SITES
1260 Timberlane Road: Instruction is available from 9:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday instruction is available between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
MACLAY SCHOOL: We are beginning our TWENTY-FIFTH YEAR of service to Maclay students. In addition to the Fine Arts program at Maclay School, pre-k and kindergarten students are offered Kindermusik or private piano. All other Maclay students may study privatey during the school day. The students are picked up at Maclay and transported to 1260 Timberlane Road, where the instruction is given. Then the students are returned to Maclay. The students are scheduled by grade level, and at a time that does NOT conflict with academic subject. There are several inportant facts that you need to be aware of as you consider this opportunity. (1) Participation is voluntary. (2) Students sign up by SMC semester. (3) Only upper school students receive their Fine Arts credit for graduation and a grade each nine weeks. (4) Students may be asked to participate in various programs at Maclay. (5) Tuition is payable directly to Stubbs Music Center by check, Visa, or Master Charge. ROBERT F. MUNROE DAY SCHOOL: In the fall of 1995, we began offering private music instruction for Robert F. Munroe students. The instruction is given on campus during the school day. Once a student has been enrolled we cantact the headmaster, and he and his staff work with the student's schedule to arrange the lesson tiem that does not conflict with an academic subject. Mrs. Joann Andersen will be available for private instruction on Mondays. Mrs. Andersen will be teaching the 3, 4, and 5 year olds general music at the Quincy location on Wednesdays in additional to her general music classes for 1-12 grades at the main campu on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Three important facts that parents must know. (1) Participation is voluntary. (2) All lessons are billed by semester and paid directly to Stubbs' Music Center. (3) Students may be asked to perform in an assembly program. In addition to private lessons Mrs. Joann Andrsen is the general music education instructor for all classes first- twelfth grades.
SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCE: In the fall of 2005, we began offering private piano instruction to the students involved in the School of Arts and Science after-school program. The instruction is given on campus. Mr. Jeff Henry, a jazz pianist, provides all the instruction in private/group lessons. Each student has a weekly thirty minute private lesson and a weekly thirty minute group theory class. (1) Participation is voluntary. (2) All lessons are billed by the semester and paid directly to Stubbs' Music Center. (3) Students may be asked to perform in an assembly program.
SCHOOL for YOUNG CHILDREN: In the summer of 2006 we began offering weekly general music education classes for all students attending the School for Young Children as part of its core curriculum.
IVY HILL ACADEMY: In the fall of 2008 Stubbs' Music Center has been providing the weekly general music education classes for all students attending Ivy Hill Avademy.
